It is with immense joy and gratitude that I share my experience as a participant in the Young Art Entrepreneurs (YAE) Cohort 8 Showcase, held at GMBB, Kuala Lumpur, from October 19th to November 5th, 2023. This showcase was a celebration of hard work, creativity, and collaboration for myself and my talented peers who has completed the 3-4 months program. Here, we showcased our creations ranging from painting and photography to sculptures, reflecting the art we have been practicing and refining.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the National Art Gallery KL and the GMBB community for their unwavering support and belief in young artists like me. For young artists in Malaysia, the YAE program is a jump-start opportunity. It offers what we need like:
- a stage you deserve when you're ready,
- educational sharing sessions to gain survival tips as an artist,
- access to sponsors feed to your work and yourself,
- a community that provides mental support and fosters connections.
If you're on the brink of taking your art to the next level, YAE is the platform that can propel you forward.
Diving into the showcase, I merged my background in interior design with my passion for ceramics, curating a sensory experience that guided visitors through a carefully planned space. The exhibit was designed to lead the audience in a circular motion around a central counter, ensuring each piece could be fully appreciated. A special highlight was collaborating with Ikebana florist Floyunn. Her floral arrangements complemented my vase pieces beautifully, adding a touch of magic and life to the room. As we wrap up this showcase, I'm filled with gratitude for everyone who's been part of this journey. Your support and belief in my work inspire me to keep making. Thank you to everyone who crossed paths with my art; your support means the world to me.
